A West Coast defender has made a move as the 2025 class of debutants nears the home stretch of the season.

A young Bomber was lucky to hold onto his spot as a pair of Tigers are nipping at his heels, while a Docker could press his claims for the top position after another outstanding performance.

2Murphy Reid (-)

The crafty Docker is getting better and better as the weeks roll on, and his performance in Saturday's Derby proved he has become a steal in last year's draft.

Reid amassed 23 possessions, four marks, three goal assists and a goal in the win over West Coast, but also led the game for score involvements, recording 15.

The Victorian's smarts in the front half place him among the leaders for the Rookie of the Year, and with four weeks to go, he could eclipse a former teammate.

A clash against a struggling Carlton could see Reid push for the most desired award in the game.
