Carlton coach Michael Voss has indicated the club needs to be open-minded in addressing second half fadeouts, offering a variety of reasons for the issue.
Speaking ahead of the Good Friday clash against North Melbourne, Voss said the club was trying to remain glass half-full despite conceding 36 second half goals in three games this season and scoring just 11.
“We've been talking about (second half fadeouts) for a couple of weeks,” Voss said.
“It's not something we've left alone. It's as obvious to you as it is to us. Is it structure that we need to reinforce, some subtle things we do there.
“Is it method? What type of mode do we need to go into and style of play during that time.
“And mindset - we need to be on the same page when we go into that. So there's bits of each but there's no silver bullet either - it's through repetition and consistency we get the change. When we get the action we need, I'm confident we can change it very quickly.”
Sitting at 1-2, Voss would not be drawn on expectations for the 2026 season, but conceded that the club was short of where it needed to be, with the last 13 minutes on Sunday costing them.

“I think we're all hurting. We can all be quite aligned with that, supporters, coaches, players,” Voss said.
“But we have to turn that hurt into action. What's been asked of us is to play 120 minutes and there's signs of encouragement but there's also been signs of disappointment.
“We've got to bridge that gap and bridge it quickly.”
Voss floated Wade Derksen, Nic Newman and Jordan Boyd as possible replacements for Harry Dean, who will miss with concussion, while confirming the return of Adam Cerra.
