North Melbourne forward Lindsay Thomas could find himself in hot water once again after an incident in Werribee's VFL clash with the Northern Blues on Saturday afternoon.

Thomas had the ball in Werribee's forward line and was trying to shrug off a tackle from Blues forward Rhys Palmer, but connected with the Carlton-listed player's head with his elbow.

It was Thomas' first game back after a three-match suspension following a bump on Casey Scorpion Corey Maynard.

Given the Roos had a bye in both the AFL and VFL over the past month, it was Thomas' first match in five weeks.

The 29-year-old hasn't played AFL football since round five after he was dropped following a string of poor performances.

For the record, Werribee won their sixth match in a row, beating the Blues by 14 points.
