Gold Coast forward Peter Wright has garnered interest from Victorian clubs, according to the Herald Sun.

The 23-year old hasn't played a game yet this season in large due to the emergence of young gun Ben King.

Although Wright has one more year left on his contract with the Suns, it's believed that Melbourne clubs are on the prowl and could potentially prow him away from the Gold Coast.

Wright kicked 21 goals from 17 games last year for the Suns and was a key figure in their forward line.

Clubs like Essendon and Geelong have been rumoured to be interested in GWS star Jeremy Cameron, who could become a free agent at the end of the season.

But with the Giants confident they will keep Cameron, those clubs could turn their attention to another key forward target like Wright.

With the potential to keep Wright as a back-up or trade bait for a good draft pick, the Suns are well position.
