Off-contract GWS forward Callum Brown has reported interest from Melbourne as he nears a decision on his future beyond the current season.

Brown, who joined the Giants in 2018 as a teenager, has become a key cog in Adam Kingsley's front-half plans, with his accurate set shot and physicality a difference maker for the Irishman.

The 24-year-old has played 55 games in orange, making his debut in 2021 and adding 13 games to his total in 2025.

The strong medium-sized forward is in line for a career-best year in front of goal, set to surpass his tally of 19 goals from 2023 in the coming weeks, having kicked 15 goals this year already.

Brown is good for a goal per game, booting 57 career goals and managing just the 25 behinds.

Still unsigned beyond this season, Brown's contract status, coupled with Melbourne's lacking front-half efficiencies, has led the Demons to show an interest in the Irish product.

According to The Age, Melbourne are eyeing the off-contract forward, and aren't the only club expressing an interest.

Per the publication, Brown has opened talks with the Giants on a new deal, with negotiations at a preliminary stage.

Brown is one of several key retention targets for GWS, who have managed to lock away Toby Bedford (2029), Finn Callaghan (2029), Connor Idun (2032) and Darcy Jones (2028) to new deals this year alone.

The New South Wales side still has Leek Aleer, Toby McMullin, Xavier O'Halloran, Callan Ward and Jacob Wehr, among others, still off-contract.

Aleer is looming as an in-demand asset for clubs keen on bolstering their backline, while Wehr has also earned reported rival interest.

O'Halloran earned attention from the Western Bulldogs in the most recent off-season but was held to his contract along with swingman Wade Derksen, who had strong interest from Melbourne.
