Richmond VFL and Williamstown have both won their wildcard round matches so are bound for the VFL finals.
The results are a blow for the losers, GWS and Collingwood, whose fringe players will now be unable to get game time as they push for selection in the AFL finals.
See a recap of each game below.
Richmond VFL 116 v GWS VFL 98
A seven goal third quarter lifted Richmond to a comfortable 18-point victory at ETU Stadium, Port Melbourne, on Saturday.
Kaleb Smith was influential but it was mostly the work of the VFL-listed players who ensured the Tigers emerged with the result.
Both sides had lots of VFL-listed players involved, with the Tigers' 15 compared to GWS' 14.
Emerging AFL Draft prospect Harry Scott was excellent in the second half, finishing with 26 disposals, while first year VFL player Massimo Raso, mature-aged Lachy Wilson, key forward Nick Girolami and speedster Mohammed Yassine were also important.
For the Giants, Brent Daniels had 29 disposals and six tackles in his first match back from injury, while Josh Fahey (36 disposals) and Harry Oliver (31 disposals) continued their strong VFL seasons.
Giants fans also got an eye on the next generation with 2026 GWS Academy prospect Ethan Matthews turning out and kicking an impressive goal on his trusty left among his 12 disposals.
The Tigers will play Brisbane VFL in an elimination final this weekend.
Collingwood VFL 69 v Williamstown 81
Collingwood was left to rue a woefully inaccurate second quarter and last quarter fadeout in its wildcard round loss to Williamstown.
The Pies led by just six points at halftime despite dominating for large periods of the second term, kicking just 1.7 in that quarter.
They then were unable to put a goal on the board in the last term, overrun by the Seagulls at Victoria Park.
Ed Allan put forward an impressive performance as he vies for finals selection at Collingwood, leading the midfield with 22 disposals, one goal and five tackles.
Charlie Dean, a likely inclusion for the Pies' first two finals in the absence of Jeremy Howe, had 14 disposals and five marks in defence against his old side, while Tom Mitchell had some moments with 20 disposals and seven tackles and Mason Cox had a busy first half.
Star Seagulls forward Lachie Gollant kicked four goals to lead the way, with Frosty Miller Medallist Brodie McLaughlin kept to just one goal.
Jake Greiser, Jack Toner and Joel Fitzgerald were excellent throughout, while Mitch Cox brought energy in the second half.
