North Melbourne has handed a Supplemental Selection Period invite to 2025 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal winner Tom Blamires.
Zero Hanger can reveal that the hard-running, clean-kicking half-back will be given a chance to press his claims for the Roos.
Blamires enjoyed a breakout 2025 after making the move from Sandringham to Frankston, playing across half-back and midfield.
He took out the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the most promising young player in the VFL and was named in the league's Team of the Year.
Every winner of the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal before Blamires since 2006 has gone onto an AFL list.
The 23-year-old courted interest from West Coast Eagles ahead of the AFL National Draft in November and received a State Combine invite.
As well as his compelling on-field attributes, he is regarded as one of the most likeable players in VFL circles.
"His work rate, his running ability, his ability to find the ball is something he's always had but this year he has a newfound confidence about himself," Frankston coach Jackson Kornberg, who also coached Blamires for U18s club Sandringham Dragons, told Zero Hanger last year.
"He's got a bit more of an edge to him about how he plays now (compared to previously). He's starting to realise he can match it with the better players in the VFL, particularly in the midfield.
"With that confidence comes the performance."
Blamires is set to battle with Sturt defender Zac Becker for the open list spot at the Kangaroos.
The club has until March 2 to finalise its list.
