Gold Coast sit in the unique position of having two more games remaining in their home and away season despite heading into the final round of 2025.
Due to the Tropical Cyclone in the Opening Round, forcing the club's match against Essendon to be postponed, the Suns' schedule looks slightly different.
"It's a two-game season for us," Gold Coast coach Damien Hardwick said.
"We're obviously out of the eight at the moment, looking to win both games. We know the situation we're in ... really important this week."
First cab off the rank is Port Adelaide in South Australia, who will be celebrating the departures of club legends Ken Hinkley and Travis Boak.
"There's going to be a lot of emotion around the game," Hardwick added.
"Embrace it. Lean into it. That INXS song (Never Tear Us Apart) should give you goosebumps. Lean into that, enjoy it.
"Not everyone gets the privilege of playing AFL footy at an outstanding venue like the Adelaide Oval.
"You don't get the opportunity to play in those games often. Let's enjoy it, let's lean into it."
Suns midfielder Alex Davies will be available to play after he successfully overturned his one-match suspension at Tuesday's Tribunal hearing. But the news wasn't as positive for Power midfielder Ollie Wines, who will miss the first two matches of 2026 after his three-game ban was upheld.
Following Friday's contest, Gold Coast will immediately turn its attention to Essendon in a bid to push for a top-four position, which depends on a pair of victories.
The Suns could welcome back Daniel Rioli (leg) to the senior line-up, while Will Graham (hamstring) and Bailey Humphrey (knee) are eyeing a return in the first week of the finals.
"It's either we win one and make finals or we win two and give ourselves a chance at top four."
