Three cruel hamstring blows have soured Round 2's clash between Richmond and Gold Coast at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Firstly, it was Tigers star key forward Tom Lynch whose horror run with injury continued.

The 33-year-old left the ground in the second quarter and didn't return to the field of play after injuring his right hamstring.

Lynch was then followed by his captain Toby Nankervis who also injured his hamstring to take away any hope of a potential upset victory over the Suns.

While Gold Coast took control of the match in the second half, the Suns will be sweating on the fitness of new recruit and star Christian Petracca who went down with a hamstring injury in the third term and didn't return to the match.

Petracca had been in Brownlow Medal-winning form across his first three matches in his new threads and had collected 20 disposals and two behinds before going down with injury.

Meanwhile, in Adelaide, Callum Ah Chee will miss six weeks or more after injuring his hamstring against the Western Bulldogs on Friday night.

Crows defenders Josh Worrell and Rory Laird were also sent for scans on their calves.
