AFL pair Josh Dunkley and Brodie Grundy, and Melbourne AFLW player Kate Hore have been elected to the AFLPA board.

It follows the Players' Association's Annual General Meeting on Tuesday evening.

Former president Patrick Dangerfield will step down from his role on the board at the end of his current term, following 12 years of service.

Sam Frost and Kerryn Peterson also stepped down following their on-field retirements.

Darcy Moore was re-appointed president.

Three-time premiership player Dunkley's election follows his appointment as co-captain of Brisbane in 2026.

It follows six separate seasons as an AFLPA club delegate.

Grundy has been a club delegate since 2024, is a Swans Diversity Action Plan Committee member and AFL Industry Mental Health and Wellbeing Steering Committee member.

Hore has captained the Demons since 2023.

“Congratulations to Kate, Josh and Brodie for being recognised and elected by their fellow players,” AFLPA chief executive James Gallagher said.

“They are all strong leaders and have enormous respect from the wider industry. We're incredibly lucky to have their experience, ideas and energy on the AFLPA Board, and I look forward to working with them as we embark on a significant journey towards the next CBA.

“Thank you to the players who put their hand up for a Board position and weren't elected – they will all continue to play important roles as AFLPA delegates at their clubs.

"I'd also like to thank our outgoing Board members, Patrick, Kerryn and Sam, who have provided tremendous service, and every player is in a better position for having had them as their representatives for so long."
