North Melbourne midfielder Tom Powell was unable to get through a light start to the Roos' Wednesday training session, with a suspected groin injury forcing the former first-round pick from the track.
Powell was spotted in ongoing conversations with medical staff early into the club's two-hour training session, seemingly pointing to his groin before heading into the rooms.
Powell later returned to the field, however resumed training off to the side of the main group to undergo testing.
The South Australian was eventually cleared to return to the main group after being put through his paces.
The potential setback comes two days prior to North Melbourne's intra-club hit-out, while the Roos have upcoming pre-season fixtures against Melbourne (February 20) and Collingwood (March 1) ahead of the new season.

Powell was one of five Kangaroos players to feature in all 23 games last year, evolving into a midfield-forward role under Alastair Clarkson.
Wednesday's session saw George Wardlaw, Aidan Corr, Bailey Scott, Brayen George, Josh Goater, Paul Curtis and River Stevens among those training off to the side, while ruckman Tristan Xerri was absent due to AFL Origin commitments.
North Melbourne's 2026 campaign gets underway against Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, March 15.
