The Richmond Football Club are investigating an incident involving defender Liam Baker, with the 23-year-old reportedly capsicum sprayed at a Melbourne bar on Sunday morning, per The Herald Sun.
It is understood that police and fire crews were called to the Osborne Rooftop and Bar in South Yarra in regards to a "hazmat incident".
The report suggests Baker was capsicum sprayed by a female patron following a "verbal stoush".
“We are investigating what happened at the nightclub,” a Richmond spokeswoman told The Herald Sun.
Police confirmed there would not be any further investigations and that no arrests were made following the incident.
“We have no comment to make about the incident that occurred,” a spokesman for the Osborne Rooftop & Bar said.
The incident adds to the Tigers' distracting off-season, with coach Damien Hardwick splitting from his wife and starting a new relationship with a fellow colleague, while young gun Sydney Stack was arrested in December following a COVID-19-related breach.
