Our Rookie Rankings have undergone further change off the back of the weekend, while an extra rung has been added to the order.
Every six weeks we have added one extra rung to our Rookie Rankings, with an eighth spot opening up after Round 18.
The latest changes have seen a Tiger return to our rankings, while his teammate has fallen further due to a season-ending injury that has forced his absence.
Selection Criteria: Zero Hanger's Rookie Rankings ONLY consider players who have made their debut this season. Other players who may still be eligible for a Rising Star nomination but have already made their debut before the 2025 season will not be considered. I.e. Rising Star eligible players such as Nate Caddy, Dan Curtin and Connor O'Sullivan are ineligible, having already played an AFL match before Opening Round, 2025. Suspension does not make a player ineligible for our Rookie Rankings.Â
Honourable Mentions
Jobe Shanahan (West Coast) - 11 disposals, 4 marks, 1 goal
Lachie Blakiston (Essendon) - 10 disposals, 5 marks, 11 hitouts
Mani Liddy (Port Adelaide) - 18 disposals, 6 marks, 273 metres gained
2Murphy Reid (-)Â
A quieter game for Reid on Saturday night but he still managed to have some impact in a thrilling win for the Dockers.
The rookie forward was kept goalless for the first time since Round 12 and managed just the three score involvements, with other teammates stepping up in the win over the Hawks.
Despite the outing, Reid is unlikely to move from the top two with six weeks left in the season, unless he gets injured or really falls away, while another contender could go on a tear.

The Dockers bounced back in style on Saturday, and Reid will look to do the same when Fremantle face Collingwood on Sunday.
