Fremantle utility James Aish has hung up the boots after 12 seasons and 186 games in the AFL.

Aish joined the Dockers ahead of the 2020 campaign, following stints at Brisbane and Collingwood after being drafted with Pick 7 in 2013.

The 29-year-old played 32 games for the Lions across two years, before adding 50 matches for the Pies between 2016 and 2019, including the 2018 decider against West Coast.

His versatility and ability to learn new roles saw Aish feature across multiple positions for all three clubs, with his latest side donning him the "Mr Fix-It".

"It's been a privilege to have played across three really good teams in three states," Aish said.

"It's brought great challenges with moving, meeting new teammates and playing new positions, but it's also been a blessing to meet great people along the way.

"When I look back on my career, the real value has been bringing joy to my family, friends, fans and staff."

Aish joins Fremantle legends Nat Fyfe and Michael Walters out the door that came so close to the ultimate glory, playing in multiple finals campaigns but failing to lift the premiership cup aloft.

"I would've loved to tick off the ultimate prize, but playing finals footy are some of my favourite memories looking back and I'm sure there's plenty more ahead at Freo."

Dockers EGM of Football Joe Briety thanks Aish for his contribution.

"'Aishy' has been a highly valued and respected teammate since arriving at the Club in 2020," Brierty said.

"His flexibility across a variety of roles - and calm head in any situation - made him a player our coaches trusted to play any role that the team needed.

"We thank Aishy for his contribution in more than 100 games at the Club and know that he will always be part of the Freo family."

The Dockers have also farewelled Quinton Narkle (retired), Odin Jones (delisted) and Jack Delean (delisted).
