Three-vote games are what every Brownlow Medal hopeful is chasing, but it's the one- and two-vote performances that can be the difference in the end.
Polling in most games can be more favourable than polling the most three-vote games, so those who might feature in the voting more frequently are often the best contenders.
Using our 2025 MVP voting results, players who polled at least 12 votes in a game stand as a firm chance to poll at least one Brownlow vote.
Our MVP voting sees four judges place 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 voting on each game of the year, making 20 votes a perfect performance.
Using that data, here are five players who stand the best chance to poll in the most games at the 2025 count.
Nick Daicos
The Magpies sensation will enter the count as the favourite following another dominant campaign.
Daicos amassed 38 votes in last year's count, which would've been a record total had it not been for Patrick Cripps' eye-watering 45 votes.
What Daicos managed to outshine Cripps in was games polled, with his 18 games receiving at least one vote, one more than Cripps' total.
On top of his three best-afield performances, Daicos had six two-vote games and a further five matches for one vote.
In 2025, our MVP race had Daicos poll at least a dozen votes in 12 games, the equal most of any player.
Bailey Smith
Level with Daicos on minimum 12-vote games in our MVP race this year, Smith is a firm chance to take out this year's Brownlow Medal in his maiden campaign as a Cat.
The flashy midfielder had just one 20-vote game to be seen as the unanimous BOG player in our MVP voting, but he did manage seven games of at least 15 votes.
It will be those games that could decide whether Smith claims the medal or comes close, but there's little doubt he'll be among the vote-getters for those games.
It also doesn't hurt when you have flowing blond hair and speed like no other to help you stand out in the umpire's eyes.
Matthew Rowell
The Suns' bull is one of three players to have 10 12-vote games in our MVP race this year, with Rowell coming in third overall for votes, trailing only Daicos and Smith.
The former No.1 pick had his best return on Brownlow night last year, amassing 25 votes - more than doubling his next-best total - to finish sixth in the final standings.
In 2025, Rowell could be in line for another career-best haul; however will have some competition from teammate Noah Anderson.
Anderson amassed eight games with at least 12 MVP votes this year, which could indicate which Gold Coast gun will poll better on Monday night.
Marcus Bontempelli
A delayed start to the season might mean the Bulldogs' captain won't win the award, but he's sure to get plenty of bang for his buck from his 18 games this year.
From our MVP standings, Bontempelli still finished in fifth, managing four perfect 20-vote games and one 19-vote outing.
His 10 12-vote games in our MVP race were a great return from 18 games, while he stunningly polled at least one MVP vote in 15 of those matches.
If you're looking for the votes-per-game leader, Bontempelli is surely your man.
Andrew Brayshaw
A potential top five smokey for 2025, with Brayshaw coming in ahead of teammate Caleb Serong and Cats pair Jeremy Cameron and Max Holmes to be one of five players with at least 10 12-vote games.
The Dockers star received at least one MVP vote in 16 games, with five of those games earning him a return of at least 15 votes.
A purple patch looks set to come between Rounds 3 and 9, with Brayshaw polling totals of 17, 13, 16, 13, 20, 0 and 11 for our MVP race in that period.
He does endure a quieter second half to the year, which includes just one vote from his final three games.
