The 2025 Grand Final was, for the most part, a scintillating contest between the Cats and Lions and saw Brisbane claim a second consecutive premiership.

The Lions' relentless pressure, exceptional foot skills and dominance from stoppage were all at the heart of their ultimate premiership success which saw them fly home to Queensland as 47-point victors.

But AFL Grand Finals are made up of moments, and there was a number of them that will be remembered fondly, or not so fondly, for the AFL's two most successful teams this century.

We breakdown the five key plays that set up Brisbane's latest dynasty era.

Shockingly, the decision to bring Lachie Neale back into the side despite suffering a significant calf injury mere weeks earlier panned out perfectly for the Lions, as his fresh legs in the second half quickly saw him become a super-sub for Brisbane in a time of need.

Neale finished the game with 17 disposals, seven score involvements, seven clearances and a goal in just 44% time on ground, a superhuman effort from the dual Brownlow medallist.

His goal to end the third quarter was effectively the sealer too, as Geelong's energy completely dissipated following that moment.
