Hawthorn players paid close to $70,000 in fines this year from Match Review Officer offences, being the AFL's standout repeat offender for 2025.

The Hawks paid $67,125 in fines from 30 monetary sanctions, while the club's seven games served in suspensions ranked as the fourth most for the year.

Port Adelaide's total of $51,125 came from more charges (31) than the Hawks, with the Power's playing group serving just four games in suspensions from two charges.

Adelaide ($48,250), West Coast ($44,250) and Richmond ($41,250) also paid up north of $40,000 in MRO fines in 2025.

Collingwood forked up the least with $10,500 in fines, with none of their eight fines being worth more than $2000.

The Western Bulldogs were the only other club to pay less than $20,000, coming in at $12,375 from their nine fines.

Sydney served the most games in suspensions, having 12 missed games in bans from six suspension charges. That included three-game bans to Justin McInerney (Round 1), Hayden McLean (Round 8) and Joel Amartey (Round 10).

North Melbourne (four suspensions, 10 games served) come in second for weeks missed, with Richmond (three, nine) the next worst off.

Three clubs - Gold Coast, Carlton and St Kilda - managed to go the entire year without having a player suspended.

In total, 36 upheld suspensions were handed down by the MRO for a total of 69 weeks served across the competition, while $636,000 were paid in fines.
