Throughout the history of the AFL, there have been champions and then there have been the unfortunate teams who never quite climbed to the top of the mountain.
The Zero Hanger team have identified and ranked the best 10 teams to never win a flag since 2000.
Two important factors made up our criteria - each club could only be represented once and was ineligible if they won a premiership the season before or after.
Without further ado, here are our 10 best AFL teams to never win a premiership since 2000.
2. 2005 Adelaide Crows
It was tough between this Crows team and the 2017 side that made the Grand Final, but this Crows team had to contend with the likes of the Swans and the Eagles and those two made the '05 and '06 Grand Finals and with the team that the Crows had, this one was certainly unlucky to not make the big dance, let alone win a flag.
Finishing first with a 17-5 record, this Crows team had an engine room that had to be seen to be believed: Tyson Edwards, Simon Goodwin, Mark Ricciuto, Scott Thompson and on top of that, you had Andrew McLeod and Brett Burton playing in the half back and half forward line respectively.
The forward line was full of unlikely lads, but it was very effective. Scott Welsh was effective 58.27, Ian Perrie and Ken McGregor were solid as the key forwards, kicking over 30 goals each this season and Trent Hentschel playing a strong role, kicking 26.18 in 21 games.
The Crows also had really strong defence, Ben Rutten was named full-back in the All-Australian team and Nathan Bassett was strong in the centre-half back slot and then there were players such as Martin Mattner, Ben Hart and Graeme Johncock providing elite run and carry.
