Throughout the history of the AFL, there have been champions and then there have been the unfortunate teams who never quite climbed to the top of the mountain.
The Zero Hanger team have identified and ranked the best 10 teams to never win a flag since 2000.
Two important factors made up our criteria - each club could only be represented once and was ineligible if they won a premiership the season before or after.
Without further ado, here are our 10 best AFL teams to never win a premiership since 2000.
1. 2009 St Kilda
Number one can't not be the team to win 20 games in the home and away season can it?
The Saints this year were incredibly hot, winning the first 19 games of the season before finally succumbing to their first defeat. They'd go on to lose in the Grand Final to Geelong in one of the greatest Grand Finals of all time.
This team is just absolutely loaded with elite talent: Lenny Hayes, Leigh Montagna, Nick Dal Santo and Brendon Goddard the core pieces in the engine room, and then players such as Farren Ray, Jason Gram and also Luke Ball prior to heading to Collingwood as well made sure the midfield batted deep.
Nick Riewoldt lead the club win goals with 78.47 for the season. Justin Koschitzke was a great second tall, kicking 48 goals, finally showcasing his talents. Stephen Milne and Adam Schneider kicked 46 and 34 goals respectively as small forwards.
Sam Gilbert was in the All-Australian squad of 40, Sam Fisher was averaging elite numbers as a defender and Michael Gardiner and Steven King excelled as a ruck combination.
