The AFL's 19th club, the Tasmanian Devils, will have access to a large range of concessions as the side builds its inaugural list.

The Tasmanian Devils will be given picks No. 1, 3, 5,7,9, 11,13, and the first selection of each subsequent round in their first draft in 2027.

Of those picks, No. 5, 7, 11, and 13, must be used in trades.

In the club's second and third drafts, the Devils will be handed fixed picks No.5 and 9 in both years, which will be in the 2028 and 2029 drafts, on top of the club's regular first-round selection, as well as the first selection in each subsequent round, in both those years pick No.5 will have to be traded as well.

If the Devils can't find a suitable trade, they will be allowed to trade the picks within the next two national drafts.

Tasmania will have two years to lure up to 18 contracted players as free agents, but with a maximum of one player per club.

Other key parts of the Devils' list build rules include a sign-on bonus fund of $5 million that will sit outside the salary cap, in their first two years, with a maximum spend of $3 million per year.

Four mini-draft selections over two years, to access 17-year-olds, following the draft, and access to pre-list draft talents spread across two years and access to prospects from two years before the club's entry, with the players able to bypass the draft.

The Devils will also receive priority access to Tasmanian prospects as Academy players, with the ability to pre-list eligible Academy players for the first four years, and will also receive access to pre-list players who have previously nominated for the national draft, but have not been selected or added to an AFL list.

Tasmania will have a flexible list size for the first five seasons, allowing up to 48 players on their list until their fourth year, and the side will have access to players as father-son, if their father was born in Tasmania, and played at least 100 AFL games.

The list of concessions given to the Devils, will be subject to review and change by the AFL, as they were designed before the League's father-son and Academy changes to the bidding system.
