The Tasmania Devils have added former Sydney ruckman and Tasmanian Cameron Owen to their VFL list for 2026.
Owen was listed with the Swans for 2023 and failed to break through for a debut, instead playing 18 games in the VFL.
He has since added to his VFL games tally with Footscray, playing 14 games for the Bulldogs, including four this year.
Owen spent most of 2025 with local outfit Frankston YCW in the Morning Peninsula Football Netball League, featuring in the best players in seven of his 10 games for the club this year.
The Clarence junior is now returning to his homeland, signing with the Devils as their latest VFL recruit.
"To be part of the inaugural team for the Devils in the VFL is really exciting and something that I am really looking forward to," Owen said.
"I think most boys who play VFL would say that their goal is to get on an AFL list and mine certainly is to get back on one.

“The opportunity to get a full season in and not have to worry about getting squeezed out of the team by AFL-listed players was also really appealing,” Owen said.
“At this stage I just feel like I need some really consistent VFL footy and hopefully that's enough to get me back on an AFL list.”
Owen will link up with two ex-teammates in Tasmania, with fellow former Swans Robbie Fox and Caleb Mitchell also joining the Devils' state league side.
Tasmania have also recruited former Essendon forward Jye Menzie, as well as Jack Callinan - the son of ex-Crow and Tasmanian icon Ian, among others.
