Sydney has welcomed back Nick Malceski to the club, with the premiership Swan signed on as the VFL coach for 2026.
Malceski began his time at the New South Wales club in 2002, and played 176 games, including the 2012 flag, before spending the final two years of his playing career at Gold Coast.
From there, the classy left-footer joined the coaching ranks at the Suns, holding roles in development and the NEAFL head coach. Malceski then spent time in the QAFL for the Labrador Tigers and was named the coach of the year in 2021.
A pair of campaigns as the Gold Coast development coach was also added to his achievements, and he will return to Sydney.
He departs the Suns alongside Wayne Campbell, who will oversee key areas, including the Sydney Academy coaching, high performance, and operations.
"I'm thrilled to return to Sydney, where I have such great memories as a player," Malceski said.
"Developing younger players is something I'm really passionate about, and I'm looking forward to working with Coxy and the coaching group this year."
Malceski will replace former teammate Jarrad McVeigh as the VFL after seeking opportunities elsewhere.
"It's great to welcome a quality person like Nick back to the club," Swans EGM of AFL Football, Leon Cameron, said.
"He has values that align with the direction of our footy program, and he has a wealth of coaching experience under his belt.
"We are looking forward to him coaching our VFL side and having a big hand in the development of our players."
The Swans have also welcomed back former player Jeremy Laidler in an assistant coaching capacity, as well as Melbourne premiership coach Simon Goodwin.
