The Swans are hoping four players who suffered major injuries during 2025 will be fully fit to commence their scheduled pre-season later this year, with key forward Joel Amartey and midfielder Justin McInerney already beginning their rehabilitation from season-ending injuries.

Sydney Swans Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services, Damian Raper, said the pair are making strong progress in a bid to return to a "normal off-season" program.

“Justin injured his PCL against Brisbane and has now come out of the brace. He is expected to begin running in two to three weeks before returning to the normal off-season program," Raper said.

"Joel has come along well, doing lots of sprinting and conditioning, and is expected to have a normal off-season.

Among other injury concerns at the club is Logan McDonald, who was unable to feature in any competitive action while dealing with ankle setbacks, but he is prepared to build into 2026 at full health.

"Logan's ankle is now looking really strong and healthy with no issues,” Raper said.

"He has returned to full training load and will complete a two-week conditioning block with US specialist Bill Knowles during the off-season.

"Bill will work (with players) on absorbing load and conditioning the rest of the body to return to the demand of AFL next season."

Swingman Joel Hamling sustained a hamstring injury during the Swans' Round 20 clash with GWS and missed the remainder of the year. However, he is expected to complete a full pre-season with the Swans, should he re-sign with the club for 2026.
