Sydney midfielder Chad Warner has penned a two-year extension amid links to his home state, Western Australia.
Warner entered 2025 as one of the most watchable players in the AFL, and at the ripe age of 23, his potential welcomed interest from West Coast and Fremantle.
But the explosive midfielder has opted to remain in New South Wales, attempting to avenge two recent grand final losses in the past three years with the Bloods.
"I'm really happy to be staying. I've loved every minute of my time at the Swans, and I'm excited for what's ahead," Warner said.
"From the moment I arrived six years ago, all the people โ the players, coaches, and staff โ have embraced me and helped me feel at home.
"I have great belief in the direction we are heading and know we have exciting times to come."
Warner's new contract will take him to his free agency year in 2027. It is understood his new two-year deal will be worth $2.7-2.8 million.
It is understood that both the Dockers and Eagles fielded massive contracts for the Swans' No.1.
Warner signs a deal worth between $2.7-8 million across the two seasons, putting him in the top handful of best paid players in the game next year. Chad decided weeks ago this was the way it was heading and just had to sort the final details, having closely weighed up Freo & WCE. https://t.co/OgcbHcihBc

Swans EGM Leon Cameron is excited by what Warner can produce in the future.
"Chad is an elite talent with an exceptional work ethic, so we are rapt to have him commit to Sydney for a further two years," Cameron said.
"He is a popular and respected member of our playing group, who has been a key contributor in our midfield for several seasons now.
"At just 23, Chad has already made a huge impact, and with his best football still ahead of him, we're excited to see his journey continue in Sydney."
The decision by Warner follows his brother's call, Corey, earlier in the year, who also penned a two-year extension until the end of 2027.
Warner has played 91 games since being drafted with Pick 39 in the 2019 National Draft, and is deemed to be one of the brightest prospects in the competition.
He received his maiden All-Australian blazer in 2024, kicking 35 goals from 25 outings, whilst also averaging 23.5 disposals, four marks, four clearances and three tackles.
His start to the 2025 campaign hasn't reached the same heights yet, collecting 20 touches and a goal in the six games thus far.
The mid-season contract call comes ahead of the Swans' match against Gold Coast on Sunday.
Warner will front the media on Thursday afternoon at 4 pm (AEST).
