Gold Coast star midfielder Touk Miller has backed his side to win an eighth consecutive game in Darwin, despite facing a five-day turnaround and an in-form Hawthorn team.
Miller spoke on Monday about the Suns' growing maturity in close matches, something he believes can become the norm at the club.
"We've got [an opportunity] to form our identity as a club and make sure we push for respect for ourselves and earn the right to be a strong, powerful club going forward," Miller said.
"We've also added this chemistry piece and the ability to be connected across the ground, celebrating, picking each other up off the deck... that is massive.
"Will Graham highlights that in a nutshell, someone who hurts himself on the field, goes to the next contest and wins the ball for us. Last week [Lachie Weller] tore his hamstring chasing someone, which [forced] the turnover, and it comes the other way. I think [the desperation] has probably been a bit of a change from last year to this year so far."
Miller said the group is keen to make the most of their advantage in Darwin, but were wary to get ahead of themselves with a hugely talented Hawthorn side travelling north and a short break.
