Claremont 12.8 (80) def. Peel Thunder 9.7 (61)

Peel thunder were unable to match the pressure Claremont brought to the game this weekend, ultimately leading to their defeat.

Tom North and Stefan Giro were joint leading ball getters, gathering 22 possessions each whilst midfielder Mitchell Crowden was close behind with 18 disposals on top of his outstanding 15 tackles.

Sean Darcy left the field during the first quarter with an ankle injury, leaving fellow tall Scott Jones to continue as ruckman for the rest of the game. Jones finished with 34 hit-outs and nine disposals.

Peel Thunder will travel to face West Perth this Saturday in the hopes of returning with a win.

 

East Perth 13.8 (86) def. West Coast 7.10 (52)

East Perth got the early jump on West Coast. Leading at every break the Eagles were unable to come back and defeat East Perth, suffering a 34 point loss.

Jake Waterman was omitted from the senior side this week. The forward kicked one goal from his 14 disposals and seven marks.

Brayden Ainsworth was impressive for the Eagles. The star midfielder collected 27 disposals, emerging as the leading ball-winner for West Coast.

Mature-age rookie Keegan Brooksby was also influential on field, finishing the game with 11 disposals, 29 hit-outs as well as a goal.

West Coast will have the opportunity to win their first game in two weeks when they travel to Steel Blue Oval this weekend to face the Swan Districts.
