Gold Coast fought hard this round to overpower the strong Southport Sharks; leading at every break they were able to defeat the Sharks by 15 points.
Michael Rischitelli is yet to get a call up for the senior side this season but continues to show his worth and what he has to offer. The 33-year-old collected an impressive 33 disposals and laid nine tackles against the Sharks.
Jacob Dawson and Brad Sheer worked tirelessly in the midfield, finishing with 30 and 27 disposals respectively and 14 tackles between them. Down forward, Brayden Crossley and Connor Nutting added scoreboard pressure, contributing two goals each.
Gold Coast will get the chance to enjoy their victory for another week with a bye in round 12 before returning to face Sydney Swans the following week.
Redland 13.13 (91) def. by GWS Giants 15.11 (101)
Redland were no match for the GWS Giants in round 11. The Giants secured their third consecutive win after defeating Redland by 10 points.
Daniel Lloyd, who has played 10 AFL matches this season, was demoted to the NEAFL side this round. Despite his omission, Lloyd went out to play an impressive game which saw him finish with 25 disposals as well as two goals.
Also scoring two goals was Zac Langdon. The half-forward was dangerous around goals and collected a team-high 27 disposals. Not far behind was midfielder Jackson Hately who continued his consistent form with 25 touches and a goal.
The GWS Giants have a bye in round 12, allowing them to prepare for their match against Sydney University when they return in round 13.
