Collingwood star ruckman Darcy Cameron is reportedly among a bevy of frustrated Pies as contract negotiations reach a "stalemate", putting West Coast "right in the mix".

Cameron, who is contracted at the AIA Centre until the end of 2026, is in search of a new extension to reflect his impressive rise to stardom.

The Pies' history with long-term contracts, in particular with ruckman Brodie Grundy, could be seen as a reason why the club is hesitant to go down that path again, which has opened the door for the Eagles.

"Darcy Cameron, his talks are still at a stalemate; he wants an extension," AFL Media's Riley Beveridge said on Gettable.

"He's been one of the most underpaid players in the comp for the best part of two to three years, but Collingwood hasn't come to the table there.

"I think now, particularly with Darcy Cameron, West Coast is right in the mix for Darcy Cameron, and I think that's a real possibility over the last couple of weeks.

"He's seriously considering the prospect of joining the Eagles and asking for a trade to the Eagles at the end of 2025. I think that's become a genuine possibility now."

It comes as the club's pursuit of Carlton defender Jack Silvagni has taken the media world by storm, as it's understood that an offer of four years around $600,000 has been tabled.

Collingwood is still working through contracts, with 17 players without deals beyond this season.

Veterans Scott Pendlebury, Steele Sidebottom, Jeremy Howe, Brody Mihocek and Jamie Elliott are expected to extend their stays at the club, as well as key defender Billy Frampton.

Premiership trio Tom Mitchell, Mason Cox and Will Hoskin-Elliott have been in and out of the senior side through injury and form, while depth options Ash Johnson, Charlie Dean and Oleg Markov also face a period of uncertainty.

A watch will be on Lachie Sullivan, Wil Parker and Finlay Macrae's futures, as well as mid-season draftees Roan Steele and Noah Howes.
