Hawthorn forward Jack Ginnivan is set to go under the knife to fix a broken finger that he suffered during the Hawks' 30-point loss to Geelong on Friday night.
According to 7 News' Mitch Cleary, Ginnivan played through the injury which he sustained early in the contest. Had the Hawks made the Grand Final, Cleary reported that Ginnivan would have been made available for selection in spite of the concern.
However, with Hawthorn's season now over, Ginnivan will quickly have a procedure on the finger to ensure he returns for a full pre-season training block.
Ginnivan starred despite the loss and injury on Friday night, recording 24 disposals and a goal.
