Scans for superstar forward Jeremy Cameron have confirmed today that the Coleman Medal winner suffered a broken arm during the Cats' Grand Final heartbreak on Saturday and will require surgery.
As reported by 7 News' Mitch Cleary, Cameron was absent from Geelong's fan day at Kardinia Park due to the scans, which confirmed the suspicion Geelong had for the spearhead following the decider.
While it's unclear when the injury was sustained, two incidents spring to mind.
The first took place in the second quarter, where a collision between Patrick Dangerfield and Cameron occurred, with both players running at full speed as they approach a marking contest from different angles.
According to Cleary, Dangerfield stated he heard a crack in Cameron's arm when he went down during the incident though Geelong elected to keep him on the field.
Cameron's heroic one-armed chase-down tackle on Jaspa Fletcher in the third quarter seemingly furthered the damage, with Cameron looking worse for wear after the exhilarating desperation act.
Jeremy Cameron’s one armed tackle with a (maybe) broken arm will go down in football folklore if the Cats win. That was superhuman. Moment of the game so far. #AFL #AFLGrandFinal pic.twitter.com/mvyfyB3mGS

At this stage, Cameron's timetable to return is unclear ahead of Geelong's 2026 pre-season, as the Cats look to bounce back from a disappointing end to a fantastic 2025 campaign.
More to come...
