St Kilda is set to be one of the prime movers in the upcoming off-season after another player has reportedly become of interest: Hawthorn's Cam Mackenzie.

The name is well known to Saints fans after Mackenzie spent time at the club's academy in the lead-up to his draft year.

The midfielder was selected with Pick 7 in the 2022 National Draft, the year the AFL introduced wholesale changes to the bidding system, which allowed rivals to land club-linked players within the top 40 selections.

St Kilda was unable to match that bid.

Now, according to SEN's Sam Edmund, the Moorabbin club is looking for a reunion with the emerging on-baller.

Mackenzie has played 46 games for the club, including 20 last year, but missed the finals series due to injury.

In 2025, he's added 12 to the tally, but has spent large chunks in the VFL, as well as in the rehabilitation group. The past month, he has been in the reserves, where he has averaged 23.5 disposals.

Mackenzie is contracted until the end of 2026.

The news comes as the Saints confirmed the acquisition of Carlton's Tom De Koning through free agency.

GWS Leek Aleer and West Coast's Liam Ryan are also in their sights, with the latter officially requesting a trade away from Western Australia.

The Saints are also "confident" they can land Gold Coast's Sam Flanders, despite him being contracted until the end of 2027.

Additionally, the Blues' wantaway defender, Jack Silvagni, could be another target, given his father, Stephen, is employed as the list manager. Former Blues players De Koning, Paddy DowLiam Stocker, and Jack Carroll are also now at the club.
