St Kilda says it is aware of an incident that occurred during its Round 2 VFL match against Frankston on Friday night.

The fixture, which was held at Frankston's home ground Kinetic Stadium, saw the Dolphins win in a thriller by eight points.

On Saturday, the Saints released a statement to address the incident which involved AFL-listed player Lance Collard.

It is alleged that Collard used a homophobic slur on a Frankston player.

"The club takes matters of this nature extremely seriously and is working closely with the AFL Integrity Unit as it conducts its investigation into the matter," the statement read.

"While this process is underway, it would be inappropriate for the club to comment further."

Collard was previously banned for six games in 2024 after pleading guilty to using a homophobic slur in the VFL.

The 21-year-old is also likely to come under match review scrutiny for a hit on Frankston's Jackson Voss in the same match.
