Brisbane midfielder Ely Smith has signed an extension with the club, that will see him remain at the Lions until at least the end of the 2022 season.

Smith was selected at pick 21 in last year's AFL Draft, but spent all of 2019 in the Lions' NEAFL side.

The 19-year-old will be hoping he can make his debut for the Lions in 2020.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that I’ll be part of this Club for another few years,” Smith told the club's website.

“It’s been a learning curve; knowing how to prepare correctly and the craft work required, but I’ve really enjoyed my time so far.”
