Bulldogs utility seeks move to Victorian rival
Western Bulldogs utility Buku Khamis has reportedly told the club that he'd like to be traded in his exit meeting, and has nominated Carlton as his preferred destination.
Khamis has struggled to cement a spot in Luke Beveridge's side, playing 41 games in the past five years, but has been more of a regular feature in the last two seasons, averaging a career-high 4.6 marks and 4.1 spoils in 2024.
He was swung forward at different stages in 2025 as the Bulldogs dealt with injuries, ultimately kicking 13 goals in 14 games.

Gold Coast enquire about troubled forward
The Gold Coast Suns are looking into the potential of bringing in troubled Western Bulldogs forward Jamarra Ugle-Hagan in 2026 via a trade, according to 9 News' Tom Morris.
The Bulldogs youngster wasn't sighted on the field in 2025 due to personal reasons and will be looking for a fresh start, despite holding a contract for next year.

Morris stated that the Suns are doing their due diligence on Ugle-Hagan and that the Bulldogs would not "play hard ball" if Gold Coast ultimately decided they wanted to acquire his services.

Three clubs interested in Hawks defender
A trio of rival clubs are reportedly showing some level of interest in Hawthorn defender Jai Serong; Essendon, North Melbourne and Sydney, according to AFL.com.au.
Serong is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at Hawthorn, having played in just 10 senior fixtures at the club since being drafted.
The 22-year-old could be a cheap option to bolster the back line of one of the three listed clubs, having proven himself with fine form at state level this season that saw him be named in the VFL Team of the Year in 2025.

Race for Gold Coast free agent heats up
Gold Coast unrestricted free agent Brayden Fiorini has reportedly toured Port Adelaide's facilities as he weighs up his playing future.

Fiorini remains unsigned at the Suns for 2026, with his contract status and strong run of form sparking the interest of multiple rival clubs, with Essendon keen on the wingman and Gold Coast hopeful he eventually recommits to the club.
Port Adelaide appear to be the frontrunners, however, as Josh Carr attempts to lure some fresh faces to the Alberton-based outfit for 2026.

Curnow amplifies trade push
According to AFL Media's Cal Twomey, Curnow returned from a holiday in the United States last week and confirmed his trade request to the Blues shortly thereafter, reiterating his desire to engineer a move away from the Melbourne footy bubble.
Twomey revealed Gold Coast are "exploring ways to get involved" in the Curnow sweepstakes without having to part ways with Bailey Humphrey, Jed Walter or Ethan Read - a young trio that rapidly developed for the Suns over the course of their historic 2025 campaign.
Sydney and Geelong remain as the two other "ideal" suitors for Curnow.

West Coast interested in delisted Sun
According to AFL Media's Josh Gabelich, delisted Gold Coast forward Tom Berry may have the chance to continue his AFL career at the West Coast Eagles.

The Victorian poses as a low-cost, high-reward option as a delisted free agent, or could be held over for the pre-season supplemental period as a rookie.
West Coast are in conversation with the AFL about an assistance package that could help them yield extra rookie spots, which could work in favour of Berry.

Gold Coast make official swing for Magpies star
The Gold Coast Suns have reportedly offered Jamie Elliott a three-year contract in the hopes of luring the Collingwood forward north for the remainder of his career, according to 9 News' Tom Morris.
The Suns have been swift in making an official play for the high-flying star, who has been strongly linked to a move to Queensland for much of his career, having grown up in the state and with existing family ties there.
The reported contract from Gold Coast is an improvement on Collingwood's two-year offer to the 33-year-old.

Saints heavy favourites to land in-demand Sun
St Kilda are believed to be in the box seat for contracted midfielder Sam Flanders as he gets set to meet with as many as four Victorian clubs.

While Flanders is contracted until 2027, he wishes to move to his home state, with talks to take place between him and Essendon, Carlton, St Kilda and Melbourne this week.
St Kilda are reportedly offering Gold Coast Pick 7 in the National Draft for his services and are willing to give Flanders a new contract worth approximately $4.5 million over five years, launching them into the favoured position to land his talents, per SEN's Sam Edmund.

Collingwood duo to depart
Magpies tall Mason Cox and veteran midfielder Tom Mitchell have been told they should seek a new home to continue their AFL careers.
According to AFL.com.au's Cal Twomey, Cox and Mitchell have both been told by Collingwood that they are permitted to look for new clubs this off-season, with the club unable to guarantee them a list spot for 2026.
Mitchell, the 2018 Brownlow medallist, will turn 33 next year while the controversial American Cox turns 35 next March.
