Revitalised Melbourne veteran Jake Melskham has inked a new extension, adding another 12 months to his career.
Melksham, signed until the end of 2026, has been one of the Demons' most consistent performers, kicking 31 goals in 18 outings, which is his second-best return in 16 seasons.
The 33-year-old looked set to hang up the boots after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on the eve of the 2023 finals series.

But Melksham returned late last year and has rarely missed, which has been rewarded with a new contract.
His re-signing follows news of the recent extensions for Jai Culley, Andy Moniz-Wakefield and Ricky Mentha Jr.
The Demons also announced the recommitment of utility Tom McDonald until the end of 2026.
McDonald first joined the club in 2010 as Pick 53, and has played 249 games, including the 2021 premiership.
The 32-year-old has returned to defence in recent years after a strong spell up forward, where he kicked a career-high 53 goals in 2018.
His efforts in the backline have been rewarded with a contract for 2026, with AFL List Manager Tim Lamb thrilled to extend the premiership Demon.
“We're really pleased to offer Tom another contract, following a strong season at AFL level,” Lamb said.
“Tom is as committed as they come, to not only getting the best out of himself and his body, but also those around him.
"His preparation, as well as his desire to contribute and play whatever role is required of him, is second to none.
“Tom is the ultimate clubman, who has given his all over the past 16 years, and we're excited to be adding another chapter in 2026.”
McDonald will notch his 250th career AFL game in Round 1 next year, assuming he is selected for the milestone match.
