Sydney will look to push up the ladder in 2026 after a disappointing first season under Dean Cox.

The Swans changed the makeup of their list, which saw eight players leave the club over the off-season, headlined by Will Hayward.

However, the Swans were one of the biggest winners in the off-season, which saw them bring in star forward Charlie Curnow, along with Jai Serong and Malcolm Rosas.

Cox will have another pre-season under his belt to put his influence on the team and shape the game style the Swans want to play in 2026.

So, let's break down how Sydney will look in 2026...

Forwards

Headlined by two-time Coleman medallist Charlie Curnow, the Swans' new look forward third gives the midfield a key target, along with Logan McDonald, who will have to prove himself after missing all of the 2025 season.

Recruit Malcolm Rosas adds another layer to the Swans' forward line, alongside veteran small forward Tom Papley.

James Jordon will either spend time in the midfield tagging, or can lock down the opposition's rebounding defender from the forward line.

Braeden Campbell's pressure and tackling will help lock the ball inside the Swans' 50, with his clean kicking a threat in the front half.

Midfielders Isaac Heeney and Chad Warner will also spend time forward, and both can hit the scoreboard.

As mentioned, Hayden McLean will back up Brodie Grundy in the ruck, with Joel Amartey another tall in the mix. The Swans could look to deploy all four tall forwards given the AFL's extended interchange for 2026.
