Richmond pair James Trezise and Steely Green have penned new deals to remain at the club until at least the end of 2026, rewarding the duo for their impressive form so far this season.

Trezise has already doubled his career games tally this season alone, playing in all eight Richmond fixtures thus far, while seeing an uptick in a range of statistical categories.

The 2023 mid-season draft recruit has persisted through the VFL at the start of his journey on an AFL list, but his run of consistency has seen him earn regular inclusion in the AFL side. The cherry on top after playing in 14 consecutive games came during Richmond's latest affair against Hawthorn when the winger nailed his first career goal.

Green has also played every game this season, improving on his pre-season tally of six games after making his debut in Round 11 last year. The 21-year-old has kicked five goals this season, with his best performance a two-goal, 14-disposal display against Brisbane in Round 4.

Richmond general manager Blair Hartley commended both players for having their hard work pay off.

โ€œJames and Steely set themselves up for this season with excellent pre-seasons and have both taken their senior opportunities with both hands,โ€ Hartley said.

โ€œSteely plays an important role for the team each week with minimum fuss and is a reliable teammate who continues to grow and show what he can do at AFL level.

โ€œLikewise, James has displayed a skillset that can help the team in various positions and has been impressive with his consistency.

โ€œWe look forward to seeing both players continue to take steps forward in their AFL careers, and these contract extensions are a fitting reward for what they are already achieving.โ€

The re-signings come just a day after Richmond locked away another trio of youngsters, draftees Luke TrainorHarry Armstrong and Thomas Sims, who all also added another year to their deal, although their contracts now expire in 2027.
