Collingwood midfielder Taylor Adams is set to re-sign with the club on a long-term deal, per AFL.com.au's Callum Twomey.

It is understood that the 24-year old will put pen to paper on a four or five year contract extension to tie him to the Magpies until the end of 2023 or 2024.

Adams' contract was set to expire at the end of this season but his new deal would likely see the onballer finish his career in the black and white.

The ex-Giant finished the 2018 season in terrific form and was one of Collingwood's best performers in their grand final loss to the Eagles, racking up 31 disposals to finish second in the Norm Smith Medal voting.

After crossing from GWS at the end of 2013, Adams has become a key part of Nathan Buckley's side and figures to play a significant midfield role in 2019, alongside Scott Pendlebury, Adam Treloar, Steele Sidebottom and boom recruit Dayne Beams.

The Pies are still awaiting new deals for Tom Phillips and Jack Crisp, while Daniel Wells is also set to come out of contract at the end of this season.
