Fremantle and forward Harley Bennell have mutually parted ways, following the 26-year-old's latest injury setback.

According to WAtoday, the two parties mutually came to the decision, with Bennell re-injuring his troublesome calf last weekend, in his fourth straight WAFL game.

Since moving to Fremantle at the end of the 2015 season, Bennell has played just two games for the club over the past three-and-a-half seasons.

Bennell's latest injury setback was labelled as "significant", with the injury set to end his WAFL campaign this season.

The club are yet to confirm the news officially.
