Recently retire three-time Geelong premiership player, Andrew Mackie will remain with the club in 2018, as he joins the Cats' recruiting team.
AFL.com.au reports Mackie will join the team in a recruitment and talent identification role, but will not begin in his position, which is still being finalised, until the new year.
Geelong's recruitment team also includes list manager Stephen Wells, talent identification manager Troy Selwood and assistant Liam Woodland.
Mackie, who retired at the end of this season, was recruited with pick No.7 in the 2002 National Draft and played 280 games for Geelong, including the 2007, 2009 and 2011 premierships.
