The 2020 AFL Draft has turned out to be one of the weaker drafts in recent years, with only two All-Australian selections and two players featuring in a premiership-winning side.

It's clear now, after five seasons, that several teams got their selection wrong, but many teams managed to find elite talent during the later rounds of the draft, with the timing of the COVID-19 pandemic obviously having a significant impact.

So here is the re-draft of the top 10 of the 2020 AFL Draft, factoring in their career so far, team success, personal awards, and their potential beyond 2025.

For context, this was the original order of the top 10 picks in the 2019 AFL Draft
1. Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (Western Bulldogs)
2. Riley Thilthorpe (Adelaide)
3. Will Phillips (North Melbourne)
4. Logan McDonald (Sydney)
5. Braeden Campbell (Sydney)
6. Denver Grainger-Barras (Hawthorn)
7. Elijah Hollands (Gold Coast)
8. Nik Cox (Essendon)
9. Archie Perkins (Essendon)
10. Zach Reid (Essendon)

8Essendon select: Beau McCreery (+36)

The second premiership player from the 2020 draft, Beau McCreery was a big piece of Collingwood's success in 2023.

McCreery can be a match-winner, but hasn't proven it consistently over a full season just yet. In this re-draft, he heads to the Bombers and may have a larger role within the Bombers' side.

Collingwood fans want to see him get more midfield minutes, as his speed may add another layer to the Pies' midfield, but he hasn't been given the opportunity so far in his career.
