Dying stages, the loud house packed, who do you want kicking for goal to win the game?

Had former Port Adelaide star Robbie Gray still been playing then the trustworthy forward-midfielder would have been in a battle for the number one spot with recently retired West Coast midfielder Dom Sheed's flag-winning left foot.

But since both are now out of the game, Zero Hanger decided to canvass the AFL landscape in search of the league's most clutch footballer. Both Essendon and Carlton players were banned from the list given the head noise that seems to be reverberating around the inner sanctums of both clubs.

Below is the definitive list ranked 10-1 of who we would trust the most to seal the deal with a goal - whether on the run or set shot - late in the game.

8Isaac Heeney (Sydney)

Coming in at number eight is arguably the best and most dynamic player in the league.

The hybrid-forward-turned-goal-kicking-midfielder is the league's best forward of centre midfielder and has proven time and time again that he can kick goals for fun. But can he do it when it matters?

Here at Zero Hanger, we certainly think he can. His stiff-arm - while collecting the ball with his other hand - on Greater Western Sydney's Lachie Whitfield during the late stages of the 2024 qualifying final will go down as one of the great finals goals as he levelled the scores with a bomb on the run from the centre square.

Heeney is made for the big moments, and if there's a goal to be kicked, you can put it in stone that the blonde Swan will slot it.
