Melbourne premiership forward Bayley Fritch is expected to depart the Demons at the end of this season.
The Demons could look to cash in on the value of some of their more senior players if they do look to add more draft picks and younger talent to their list.
Melbourne are facing a second consecutive season in the bottom six on the ladder; however do not hold their first-round pick after trading the selection to Essendon last year.
The club has been urged to consider trading valuable assets to aid what has been noted as a period of "transition" for the Demons, with Fritsch among those holding value for clubs in a win-now window.
Speaking on The Agenda Setters, 7 News reporter Mitch Cleary has declared that Fritsch isn't expected to be a Demons beyond this year.
"I think they have the most fascinating off-season ahead, because Simon Goodwin has put it on the record saying this is a team in transition," Cleary said of the Demons.

"They've got good players under 24 (years of age) and players at the top end coming towards the end of their career.
"Bayley Fritsch is a fascinating one for me. Kicked six goals in a grand final. I reckon there's a market for a player like Bayley Fritsch. So to Clayton Oliver. What happens to Christian Petracca?
"These aren't just middle-tier players, these are premiership players. So a big off-season is ahead for the Dees."
Asked if Fritsch will be in the red and blue next year, Cleary said "no".
The Melbourne forward has a contract with the Demons until the end of next year. The 28-year-old will enter his first year as a free agent in 2026, with Melbourne potentially able to get a better return via a trade for the medium-sized forward compared to a free agency departure.
Fritsch has played 165 games for the Demons since earning a promotion out of Casey's system, with the agile attacker leading the club's goalkicking the past five seasons.
His most recent performance saw Fritsch add three goals to his season tally in a starring role against North Melbourne, with the Demons forward now having kicked 15 goals in his past eight matches, booting at least one goal in each game.
