Port Adelaide defender Logan Evans has signed a three-year extension, locking him away at Alberton until the end of 2028.

Evans is one of the AFL's many success stories after being drafted in the 2024 Mid-Season Draft with Pick 12, after he spent time with the Power's SANFL program, allowing him to train with the senior side and benefit from the elite sporting environment.

Catching the eye of recruiters with his versatility, the ability to read the football and clean hands, it was no surprise the South Australia club moved quickly.

"I'm so happy to be here for another three years," Evans said.

"I'm grateful to Port Adelaide for putting faith in me and giving me an opportunity, and to Norwood for supporting me as a junior.

"I absolutely love the club, the boys and the coaches at Port, and I've learned so much in the last few months.

"I just want to keep getting better and doing whatever I can for the team. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this group."

Evans made his debut three weeks after being drafted, taking on eventual premiers Brisbane in Round 15. He remained in the senior side for the remainder of 2024, including the three finals.

He was also the Round 24 Rising Star nominee after gathering 23 disposals, 10 rebound 50s and six marks in the victory over Fremantle.

Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps has been impressed with Evans' quick development, and is excited by what he'll produce in the future.

"Logan has been a great addition to our backline over the last 11 months, and has learned and absorbed plenty of game knowledge since being in the AFL system," Cripps said.

"His aerial ability and accuracy by foot are solid traits of his game, and he we know he will continue to develop positively at our club.

"Logan's attitude is excellent, he responds well to feedback, and he's a hard worker. We are pleased to see Logan remain at Port Adelaide for three more years."
