Port Adelaide has released a statement on veteran Nathan Krakouer after he was involved in an incident on Saturday night in which he allegedly damaged the windscreen of a taxi after drinking with friends.

Krakouer reportedly ordered a taxi from Salisbury West Football Club to take him to the city at around 10.30pm. However, when his card was declined several times, an argument ensued before he allegedly punched the windscreen.

"Port Adelaide is aware of an incident last night involving Nathan Krakouer and damage to a taxi at Salisbury West.

The club has spoken to Krakouer who has apologised for the incident and agreed to pay the cost of all damages.

Port Adelaide's leadership group will consider the matter over the next fortnight."
