GWS free agent Jacob Wehr's intentions to join Port Adelaide this off-season have been confirmed by the South Australian club.
On Monday, GWS announced that Wehr has looked to exercise his rights as a free agent and will depart the Giants via next month's signing window.
Wehr, who has only been with the Giants since 2021, is eligible for unrestricted free agency after he was previously delisted and then re-listed by GWS.
A product of Woodville-West Torrens, Wehr will return to South Australia after nominating the Power as his desired landing spot for 2026.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Power list manager Jason Cripps expressed his delight in Wehr's decision.
"We're delighted that Jacob has chosen Port Adelaide as the club where he wants to continue his AFL career," Cripps said.

"As an unrestricted free agent, Jacob will be entitled to accept our offer once it's formally submitted during the free agency window in October.
"Jacob is an outstanding person who we believe will add valuable depth to our list and complement our existing midfield group.
"With the official player movement period still a month away, we will not be making any further comment on this matter at this time."
Wehr's move to Alberton looks set to be the club's first signing under new coach Josh Carr, who has taken the reins from long-serving coach Ken Hinkley.
Wehr has played 39 games for GWS, including 14 matches this year as a versatile flank option who can play across all three lines.
The Power have also been linked to contracted Fremantle midfielder Will Brodie, who is yet to request a trade to Port Adelaide, and will need to do so to leave the Dockers, given he is under contract.
The 2025 free agency window opens on Friday, October 3, with the 2025 Trade Period to commence on the following Monday.
