How do new recruits fare against their old clubs

Travis Cloke and Drew Petrie both face their former sides this weekend so we've looked at how some big name recruits have fared against their old clubs in recent years. Patrick Dangerfield v Adelaide, round eight, 2016 Dangerfield showed no signs of nerves his first game against the Crows, after 154 games with Adelaide. He collected 33 disposals, 11 tackles and three marks in Geelong's 26-point win at Adelaide Oval last year. Gary Ablett v Geelong round 10, 2011 Gary Ablett faced his old side for the first time in round 10, 2011 after his highly publicized move from the Cattery. In typical Ablett fashion, he rose to the occasion, finishing with 31 touches, four tackles and eight clearances. Lance Franklin v Hawthorn, round eight, 2014 Franklin struggled to find his range early in the game, kicking seven straight behinds to start the match against his former club. He eventually hit the mark in the final quarter, scoring two goals, to finish with 26 disposals, 10 marks and 2.7. Adam Treloar v GWS, round 16, 2016 Treloar left the Giants in a high profile move to join the Magpies at the end of 2015. He had the last laugh, collecting 27 disposals and five tackles, as Collingwood ran out 32-point winners. Steve Johnson v Geelong, round two, 2016 Stevie J was unhappy at being moved on by the Cats at the end of 2015 and he made sure the club knew what it was missing, with a classic Johnson snap to start the game at Manuka Oval. He finished with 23 disposals, two goals and seven marks as the Giants won by 13 points. Tom Scully v Melbourne, round 13, 2012 Melbourne fans were fuming with former No.1 draft pick, Tom Scully, after his lucrative move to new franchise, Greater Western Sydney. The Demons had the last laugh on this particular day however, running away 78-point winners at the MCG. Scully finished with 19 disposals, four marks and five tackles. Kurt Tippett v Adelaide, round 18, 2015 Adelaide fans had to wait until 2015 for their chance to boo Tippett, despite the big man joining the Swans in 2013. Tippett enjoyed a standout performance, kicking three goals, taking three marks and finishing with 19 disposals. Paddy Ryder v Essendon, round 17, 2015 Ryder left the Bombers due to the club's supplement saga at the end of 2014. He returned to Etihad Stadium with a bang in 2015, booting four goals, taking three marks and finishing with 10 disposals.
