Collingwood skipper Darcy Moore's battle against his body has continued.

Having missed both the pre-season and the opening two games of the season with a mix of calf trouble and hamstring awareness, Moore donned the black and white for the first time in 2026 on Friday night to take on Greater Western Sydney at Marvel Stadium.

However, the two-time All Australian and premiership-winning captain was a cause for concern for the Magpies as a hamstring issue continued to trouble Moore throughout the match.

Collingwood coach Craig McRae said the club would take a cautious approach with their leader.

"It's hamstring awareness (for Moore) and for those following his rehab back to play he had this about 10-12 days ago the same thing and we were no risk, no risk, no risk," McRae said.

"But we're in the game you go, 'Can he push through? Can he take some minutes?' It's important in terms of rotations if he can take some minutes, without risk. I say that but I just back in our high performance team.

"But he is not right. He is not 100 per cent. Has he done a hamstring? I'm not sure, I don't think so, that's what I have been told."

"I would say he is unlikely to travel to Brisbane."

Moore played out the match and finished with 61 per cent game time, but will get scans on his hamstring on Saturday to determine if there has been any damage done.

The Magpies will likely also be without former captain Scott Pendlebury (achilles trouble) for their clash against the Lions next Thursday night at the Gabba.
