Former Tigers great Matthew Richardson has re-drafted the top 10 picks of the 2003 AFL Draft on Sportsday.
See Richo's other re-drafts: 2000, 2001, 2002.
Topping Richardson's 2003 re-draft is Dockers veteran David Mundy. Perennially underrated throughout his career, the 316-gamer stands as one of Fremantle's modern day greats.
โJust for consistency over a long, long period of time," Richardon toldย Sportsday.
"Heโs captained his club, All-Australian, best and fairest and still playing. Heโs versatile, can play anywhere, his career has been super consistent.โ
With pick two Richo went with Giant Heath Shaw, who took his game to another level when he he was traded from Collingwood at the end of 2013. The 308-gamer is a premiership player and two-time All Australian.
โHeโs still playing now, All-Australian twice. Just one of the best running defenders we have seen in the last 15 to 20 years.โ
Richardson took Brownlow medallist Adam Cooney with his third pick, who was the original pick one. He conceded the former Bulldog and Bomber wouldn't be happy with his relegation.
โHe played 250 games obviously an All-Australian and a Brownlow. Heโll be flat with me for dropping him down to three.โ
St Kilda's Sam Fisher and Carlton's Andrew Walker round out Richo's top five picks.
He apologised to ex Lions Jed Adcock and Michael Rischitelli for not featuring in the top 10, while former Blue and Demon Brock McLean reportedly texted Sportsday that he was "flat" about his absence.
