SEN Breakfast co-host Garry Lyon has tried his hand at predicting the ladder at the end of round 23, and the former Melbourne legend has a shock side in 8th place.

Lyon tried to tip the final four rounds of the season, and to his surprise, had St Kilda finishing in the last spot of the finals positions.

The Saints are currently in 13th with a percentage of just 85.0%, and are one win and 22% behind the Crows in eighth-place.

“Honestly, I’ve done the ladder predictor, I had a go and tipped the next four rounds basically,” Lyon told SEN Breakfast.

“Then at the end I’ve had a look at it and St Kilda was eighth.

“I wouldn’t go and put your house on it, I just did it for fun, but they’re a chance!”

Looking at the Saints' next month of football, four wins from four isn't beyond them, as they face Adelaide (A), Fremantle (H), Carlton (A) and Sydney (A).

“They look like they’re playing with a real spirit and enthusiasm at the moment and they’ve got a good run home,” Nick Riewoldt added.

The Saints are now 2-0 under caretaker coach Brett Ratten.
